The sexy, blonde, lead singer of L.A.'s legendary all-female band, The Runaways, made a rare personal appearance, with an autograph session and a live performance with her band, her twin sister Marie Currie, Sandy West (of The Runaways drummer), Bruce Gary (The Knack's drummer), Julie Ragins (Vocalist) and other special guests, to celebrate the CD release of Cherie and Marie Currie's long out-of-print album Messin' with the Boys.

 "We're excited that Cherie chose to celebrate on Melrose with us," said Bill Liebowitz of Golden Apple. "Cherie and The Runaways defined the sexy, cutting-edge rock'n'roll attitude that Melrose has always personified. A while ago, Golden Apple hosted the world premier of her best-selling autobiography Neon Angel. The book signing was a monster event, and we are looking forward to hosting Cherie's many fans again."

Cherie Currie is best known as the sexy, blonde, teen-aged lead singer of the first successful all-female self-contained rock band The Runaways. She has also recorded solo and with her twin sister Marie. Cherie has starred in several hit movies including Foxes (with Jodie Foster), Wavelength, and Parasite (with Demi Moore), and penned a best-selling autobiography Neon Angel. She has grown from a 15 year old "Cherry Bomb" into a beautiful, poised and talented young woman.

Messin' with the Boys (the album) was originally released by Capitol Records in 1979. The tracks included the title song, as well as the single "Since You've Been Gone" and a killer cover of The Raspberries' anthem "Overnight Sensation" (hit record). Original recording personnel included the best of L.A.'s session men -- Waddy Wachtel, Mike Porcaro, Steve Lukathor, and others. The re-issue CD comes with a new exclusive cover shot, a booklet containing all the original album notes and photos, and a gallery of vintage and current photos, plus seven previously unreleased tracks including a blistering version of "Cherry Bomb."
